The Hancock Center H-E-B has officially entered its next chapter. After a multi-year remodel and expansion, the store at 1800 East 41st Street has opened with new and upgraded departments that reflect how peopleshop, eat, and use the space today.
The remodel brings the store to a total of 124,476 square feet following a 31,000 square foot expansion, and the changes are immediately noticeable. This location now blends full scale grocery shopping with prepared food, wellness services, and dining options that push it closer to a neighborhood hub than a traditional supermarket.
One of the most visible additions is the new True Texas BBQ restaurant, now operating with indoor seating and a menu that runs deep. More than 200 items are available, from smoked meats and sandwiches to loaded baked potatoes and Prime Brisket, all smoked onsite around the clock under the supervision of a certified pitmaster. It is a serious barbecue operation embedded directly into the store.
The Meal Simple department has also been expanded and reworked, offering a larger selection of chef inspired meals prepared in house. The new layout creates dedicated space for low carb and higher harvest options, along with rotating seasonal comfort meals designed for grab and go convenience or ready to cook dinners at home.
Sushi fans will notice an upgrade as well. In addition to the existing Sushiya rolls made fresh daily, the department now includes Hot Asian Grill options, featuring rice bowls, teriyaki, and other hot selections that broaden the prepared food lineup.
Several core grocery departments have been expanded, including Produce, Bakery, Deli, Meat Market, and Seafood. Shoppers can expect a wider range of local produce, scratch baked breads and pastries, chef driven deli offerings, USDA Choice and Prime cuts in the Meat Market, and an expanded selection of fresh and ready to cook seafood.
The Beer and Wine department has also grown, with a broader mix of local, national, and international bottles. A Wine Steward is available to assist customers, and in store tasting stations provide opportunities to explore new selections.
On the wellness side, the Healthy Living department has been refreshed with bulk food bins, vitamins, sports nutrition products, and an expanded cold beverage selection. The store also features a full service pharmacy, a wellness primary care clinic, and an expanded H-E-B Curbside area with additional dedicated parking spaces.
