Austin’s own Hopdoddy is celebrating National Burger Day on May 28 with free cheeseburger meals, live music, and a new campaign that takes a not so subtle swing at the fast casual burger world.
The brand’s new “Obsession” campaign launches the same day, leaning into Hopdoddy’s focus on fresh to order burgers, quality ingredients, hand cut fries, and a bigger argument that a lot of burger chains have gotten way too comfortable serving meals that look better in ads than they do in real life. Fair point. We’ve all seen a burger show up looking like it lost a bar fight.
Free Cheeseburger Meals at Hopdoddy Plaza Saltillo
On May 28, Hopdoddy will transform its Plaza Saltillo location into a free burger joint for the day. Guests can stop by from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. to receive a free cheeseburger meal with no purchase required, no app download, and no buy one get one catch.
The free meal features Hopdoddy’s Classic Burger, with vegetarian and gluten free options available.
Throughout the day, the Plaza Saltillo restaurant will also feature behind the scenes burger making footage on its digital menu screens, giving guests a closer look at how the kitchen builds its burgers from start to finish.
Music, Drinks, Tastings, and Burger Day Extras
The National Burger Day event will include several on site activations throughout the day, including the Coca Cola trailer with free beverages and merch, samplings of Vista Brewing’s “Hopdaddy” collaboration beer, tastings and goodies from Garrison Brothers, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Tillamook Ice Cream, and Hopdoddy merch.
DJs will perform from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by a live music performance from Jon Kott Band from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
