National Queso Day is Sunday, September 20, and Torchy’s Tacos is giving Austin queso fans a solid reason to make a taco run.
Torchy’s Rewards Members can get a free large Green Chile Queso and chips with any purchase all day Sunday at participating restaurants. The deal is available for in-restaurant orders only.
Queso hardly needs its own holiday in Austin, but getting a large bowl of it for free certainly helps the argument.
Torchy’s Green Chile Queso has been a staple of the Austin-born taco chain for years, made with green chiles and topped with guacamole, cotija cheese, cilantro and Diablo Hot Sauce. For plenty of regulars, ordering it isn’t really a decision so much as part of the routine.
The free queso deal is limited to Torchy’s Rewards Members. Anyone who hasn’t joined yet can sign up before Sunday through Torchy’s website or app, then make a qualifying purchase at a participating restaurant to get the free large queso and chips.
National Taco Day Is Next
Torchy’s has another freebie lined up a few weeks later. On Tuesday, October 6, Rewards Members can get a buy one, get one free taco all day at participating restaurants. That offer is also limited to in-restaurant orders.
But that’s October’s business.
This Sunday, order the taco you were probably going to order anyway and get the queso. Just don’t volunteer to share before you’ve seen how big everyone else’s appetite is.
