Midweek dinner plans in Austin usually fall into two categories. Either you overthink it and end up ordering takeout, or you settle for something forgettable. Summer on Music Lane just made that decision a lot easier.

Every Wednesday from 5 to 10 pm, the restaurant inside Hotel Magdalena is running a steak frites night that actually feels worth going out for. For only $35, you get a 7 ounce steak finished with maître d butter and bottomless fries, which already puts it ahead of most midweek deals around town.

Then it stacks on top of that with $5 Caesar salads and half-off select bottles of wine. The kind of pricing that turns a casual dinner into a longer night without much effort.

Outside of Wednesdays, the restaurant has been rolling out a broader menu from Executive Chef Nick Hymel that leans into Southern influenced dishes. Guests can enjoy smoked crawfish boudin, jalapeño hush puppies, duck and dumplings, and a solid burger lineup, along with lighter lunch options and a full weekend brunch.

But Wednesday is clearly the move.

The covered patio helps seal it. You get the outdoor setup without dealing with the full heat, which makes it an easy call this time of year whether you are meeting friends or just trying to upgrade a random weeknight.
