The Royale Room in downtown Austin just brought back its swagger with a fresh menu that makes martinis feel new again. Inside the Thompson and tommie Austin hotels, this cocktail lounge is rolling out a lineup that blends Austin’s playful energy with real bar craft.

Bret Hoffman, Area Director of Sales and Marketing, said the goal was to reimagine the martini in a way that feels distinctly Austin. Beverage Director Miranda Breedlove followed through with creations that are bold, funny, and a little bit rebellious. The Hot and Dirty swaps the usual gin for reposado tequila with dry vermouth and pickled serrano brine. The Tuxedo Highball blends gin, fino sherry, soda, and orange bitters for something crisp and unexpected. Classic favorites like the Paper Plane and East and Down stay on the menu, alongside quick hitters like the Swiftie and the TX Pickle Back for anyone chasing instant joy.

The Royale Room is also kicking off a new Dirty Dozen program. Each month they team up with a different local partner to drop a limited martini. The first is a collab with STAG Provisions that’s served from a Texan flask right at your table. Future guests like Graza Olive Oil will bring even more twists to keep things weird and interesting.

Chef Marc Marrone rounds out the menu with shareable snacks that hit hard after a few drinks. The Five Spice Caesar with chili oil and spicy breadcrumbs, the Royale Tots with queso and chorizo, and the Ritzy Green Dip made with fontina and brown butter are all standouts. Returning favorites like the Steakhouse Burger, Chicken Tenders, and Steak Frites complete the spread.

The Royale Room is open Tuesday through Saturday from five to eleven at night and remains one of downtown Austin’s best spots to sip something different, laugh too loud, and feel like the night might get a little weird in the best way.
