Austin has never been great at staying in one creative lane, and that is exactly why Manual Focus Car and Art Show feels right at home here.
Making its debut February six through seven, Manual Focus takes over Distribution Hall with a two-day event that treats automobiles the way Austin treats everything it loves most: as art. Presented by Kindred Motorworks, the show blends high-design vehicles with fine art in a gallery-style setting that feels closer to a museum opening than a traditional car show.
Instead of rows of polished engines and folding chairs, Manual Focus presents cars as sculptural pieces, displayed alongside paintings, photography, and mixed-media work inspired by automotive culture. The goal is simple but ambitious: bring car enthusiasts and artists into the same room and let the overlap speak for itself.
The weekend kicks off Friday night with a ticketed pre-party designed for those who want the elevated experience. Guests get early access to the show, an online auction, exclusive merchandise, and complimentary bites from LeRoy & Lewis Barbecue and Aburi Oshi Sushi, with support from Porsche Austin. The evening also includes live painting of a Porsche nine eleven Safari, vinyl sets from DJ Daecosomoxi, and the kind of crowd that likes their art with a little horsepower.
Saturday opens things up to everyone. The daytime show is family-friendly and designed for browsing, discovery, and lingering conversations. In addition to the exhibits, attendees can participate in an online auction featuring artist-designed plaster car sculptures, with proceeds benefiting The Contemporary Austin. Food and drinks will be available from Flat Track Coffee, Garage Pizza, and more.
Tickets and the full schedule are available at manualfocusshow dot com, and updates can be found on Instagram at manualfocusshow.
In true Austin fashion, Manual Focus is less about labels and more about connection. Cars become canvases. Art gets a little louder. And for one weekend, two creative worlds meet in the middle.
