El Burro is the newest concept from restaurateur Vincent Manguino and the team behind VOX Table, including Executive Chef Joe Anguiano and Beverage Director JR Mocanu. The El Burro menu features classic and updated Mexican favorites and a wide selection of cocktails, including the beloved frozen margarita, and lots of imported and local beers.

Helmed by Executive Chef Joe Anguiano, El Burro, one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the season, featuring a casual yet modern menu of Mexican favorites made with Texas-centric ingredients as well as cerveza by the bottle or bucket and an abundance of house and classic cocktails in an open-air patio overlooking Lamar Blvd.


Menu Highlights 

Some of El Burro’s menu specialties include sharable must-haves like the Queso Fundido topped with pico de gallo; Nopale Salad with charred cactus, tomatoes, cotija cheese, smoked onions and charred popcorn puree; Elotes, aka Mexican sweet corn, grilled and served with butter, crema fresca, cotija cheese, chili flakes and lime juice; and the soon-to-be-legendary crispy Churritos in a Bag, served with a house-made lime-and-chili juice.

Guests can Build-Your-Own Quesadilla, choosing from mix-ins like rajas, corn, nopalitos or a fried egg, and meat selections like beef fajita, al pastor, chicken tinga and rib eye.  Fajita lovers will love El Burro’s impressive From the Grill selections, which include a variety of half-pound or full-pound fajita plates with a choice of beef, chicken or sizzlin’ rib-eye, as well as specialty fajitas like the Fajitas Tremendos with a pound of beef fajitas, lobster tail and six bacon-wrapped shrimp, and Rib Eye Fajitas Tremendos with a full pound of rib eye fajitas, a whole lobster tail and six bacon-wrapped shrimp.



El Burro’s beverage selection ranges from classic Agua Frescas and Jarritos to a menu of one-of-a-kind and traditional cocktails, a list curated by acclaimed VOX Table Beverage Director JR Mocanu that includes house and frozen Margaritas, Mexican Martinis, Micheladas, Palomas and house-made Sangria, as well as specialty cocktails such as the Frida Kahlo, a blend of Ocho Plata Tequila, Plantation Overproof, strawberry hibiscus and lime.
