The family behind the renowned Schlitterbahn waterpark proudly announces the opening of Camp Landa, a boutique RV resort in downtown New Braunfels, Texas. The grand opening on May 24 will kick off the holiday weekend with a celebration of this unique destination.
Prime Location and Modern Amenities
Situated by the Comal River, Camp Landa offers high-end camping in the Texas Hill Country. Designed with a nostalgic 1960s vibe, the resort blends retro charm with modern luxury. Texas-based Open Studio Architecture and CoPilot Creative, along with interior design by True Design, crafted this beautiful 30-acre property. Classen-Winters Design Build, a local contractor, brought the project to life.
Rich History and Thoughtful Design
The site, formerly used for manufacturing Schlitterbahn’s water attractions, has been transformed into an upscale camping retreat. Caleb Goins from Open Studio Architecture explained, “We centered the design on the adaptive reuse of an existing building, achieving a mid-century aesthetic with retro construction materials.”
Family-Friendly Features
Camp Landa features a heated pool, wifi, camp store, on-site laundry, fire pit, sports courts, and a swim-up bar. The café offers unique menu items like the Hurta Loaded Bavarian Pretzel. Activities for kids include a jump pad, crafting station, and playground. With 110 RV sites and cozy cabins that sleep eight, families have plenty of options. A dedicated shuttle service makes exploring nearby Landa Falls easy.
