Heads up, breakfast folks. One of Austin’s favorite morning spots is making its way to South Lamar. Paperboy officially opens its second location tomorrow, June 10, bringing all the brunch magic to the south side with a fresh look and way more room to hang.
Sitting pretty at 1401 South Lamar Blvd., right under a new mixed-use development, Paperboy South builds on what made the East 11th Street original so popular. This new spot comes with indoor seating for 52, a covered patio that fits 65, and a walk-up window for those on-the-go breakfast missions.
The design is clean, modern, and straight-up cool. Chioco Design and Kempt Studio gave it some industrial edge with steel, tile, and high ceilings, balanced out by warm wood tones, retro two-person booths, and a custom green terrazzo bar that’ll have you rethinking your kitchen goals.
The menu hits all the familiar notes. You’ve got the Texas Hash, B.E.C. Sandwich, Paperboy Pancake, and a killer lineup of house-made pastries. Thanks to the bigger kitchen, the team’s got more room to play, which means new seasonal dishes and lighter bites are coming soon.
Coffee is still handled by their friends at Superthing, and the pastry case will see regular takeovers from familiar names around town. Expect the same community vibe, just with a little more South Austin flavor.
