Austin brunch culture is about to get another upgrade, and this time it comes with an Eastern Mediterranean twist. Ezov, the restaurant from the award winning Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, is rolling out a brand new Sunday brunch service starting September 28 at 2708 East Cesar Chavez.
This marks the first time the Emmer & Rye team has introduced a regular brunch menu at one of their Austin restaurants, and they are making it count. The lineup includes Falafel Scotch Eggs topped with tahini and amba, Pan fried Halloumi drizzled with saffron honey and Texas figs, and a Sabbich Benedict layered with crispy eggplant and amba hollandaise. If you are keeping track, that is three solid reasons to cancel your boring breakfast plans.
Ezov is also dropping a pastry program that goes way beyond the standard croissant. Think sticky orange blossom buns, Turkish coffee cake that will make you question your caffeine loyalty, and house made baklava that is worth every bite of flaky indulgence.
And since no Austin brunch is complete without cocktails, the bar team has put together a mix of classic brunch staples and signature creations to pair with the food. In other words, your Sunday will start with a mimosa but may end with something stronger, and that is exactly how brunch should work.
Brunch runs every Sunday from 11 am to 2:30 pm, and reservations are now live on OpenTable. Walk ins are welcome, but the odds of a full house are high. For menus and updates, head to ezovatx.com or follow @ezovatx on Instagram.
Ezov has always been about bold flavors and playful energy, and now the east side gets to experience it before noon. Put it on your brunch list now, because Falafel Scotch Eggs might just be Austin’s new Sunday obsession.
