As of March 18th, there are more than 18 positive cases of COVID-19 in Austin-Travis County and officials expect more infected citizens in the area in the coming days and weeks.

On March 16th, Austin Mayor Steve Adler has recently joined Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt to announce that bars will be closed and dine-in service at restaurants will be suspended for up to six weeks.  The order went into affect on March 17th and will last until at least May 1st.

Austin joins other major cities across the United States and in Texas, like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, which have also shut down bars and restaurants in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
