Modern Japanese restaurant, TenTen recently opened downtown in the old Miller Blueprint building which has been refurbished and redesigned with a relaxing, urban and natural setting on West 6th street.  The restaurant’s menu focuses on high-quality sushi and Japanese flavor-forward robata, curated by Executive chefs Jonathan Oh and Yasuo Fujimori.

 

The Menu

TenTen’s menu highlights elevated ingredients which are mostly locally sourced, creating shareable dishes that features Japanese-style grilled meats and veggies, and sashimi.  The grilled meats and veggies offer a nice smoky flavor, while sushi offerings like the spicy tuna with serrano, hamachi with jalapeño and cilantro, and king crab with Fuji apple and avocado make perfect shareable options.

 

Elevated options like nigiri, A5 Wagyu with sweet soy and scallion, salmon toro with tomato and ikura, and hamachi belly with jalapeño and chili ponzu offer a first-rate culinary experience with .  Japanese robata offerings include mushrooms in wafu dressing and bronzino with ginger and cucumber to black cod with miso and yuzu and pork ribs in teriyaki with pecan and chili.

Beverages

The bar focuses on creative craft cocktails such as the Wasabi Caipirinha, Yuzu Cosmopolitan Daisy, and Jasmine Peach Spritzer.  You’ll also find an elevated curated selection of wines; a full sake selection with varietals such as junmai, junmai ginj­ō, and junmai daiginjō and various brands including Tozai “Snow Maiden,” Fukucho “Moon on the Water,” and Kuboto Senju “1000 Long Lives”; and a full bar with cocktails such as Wasabi Caipirinha, Yuzu Cosmopolitan Daisy, and Jasmine Peach Spritzer all inspired by Japanese flavors.

 

Atmosphere

TenTen boasts a relaxed upscale and urban space, highlighted with fixtures made of stone and black walnut curated by Las Vegas-based designer Lisa Esobar, as well as art by Ysabel Lemay.  The bar and lounge area boasts beautiful lighting, high-seated furniture, and space for made perfect socializing with drinks and small bites.  Several cozy booths and a gorgeous lighting system by Austin-based Ketra helps to create an intimate dining space with notes of fresh vibrance spreading through the kitchen’s glass window.
