LITTLE OLA’S BISCUITS

1610 San Antonio St.Little Ola’s Biscuits is a takeout biscuit pop-up featuring Olamaie’s famous flaky biscuits conveniently delivered to your car.  The shop, operates out of Olamaie and accepts orders via olamaieaustin.com.  The shop serves Olamaie’s signature biscuits along with biscuit sandwiches like one featuring a fried Dewberry Hills Farm chicken thigh slathered in Texas honey or a sausage, egg, and cheese.  All sandwiches are priced at $10 or less and have been selling like hot biscuits since their launch.  The sandwiches are so popular that you’ll have to place your order at least 3-4 days in advance!

 

 

 

BIRD BIRD BISCUIT

2701 Manor Road | The quirky biscuit sandwich shop is a fast-casual eatery focusing on creative biscuit sandwich options, co-founded by Chef Brian Batch, and co-owner of Thunderbird Coffee, Ryan McElroy.  Available for breakfast or lunch, the menu includes sweet and savory biscuit sandwiches like the Bird Bird Bacon (crispy bacon, organic egg over medium, cheddar, bacon-infused chipotle mayo) and sweet options, like the Childhood (with roasted peanut butter, milk chocolate chips, banana, chocolate).  Bird Bird Biscuit is open Tuesday – Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

 

 

 

Better Half Chicken Biscuit Sandwich

406 Walsh St. | The fried chicken biscuit sandwich with jalapeño honey butter at Better Half is practically a crunchy, buttery version of heaven in your mouth.  It’s available on their breakfast menu which starts daily at 7am until 3pm.

4827 E Cesar Chavez St.  | This traditional Southern Diner offers breakfast, lunch & dinner inspired from the best kitchens between here and New Orleans.  Their Breakfast on Biscuit sandwich features a traditional buttermilk biscuit with a fried egg, cheddar cheese and andouille sausage; their fried chicken biscuit is topped with cane syrup and honey butter.

500 W 5th St. | I’ve been asking Fixe to make biscuit sandwiches since they first opened and it looks like they finally came around.  Can you say GAME CHANGER?  These biscuit sandwiches are made with their original buttermilk biscuits and feature a variety of 6 sandwich options, including the Pollo Frito Loco (fried chicken sandwich), Old Fashioned, and the Bukowski featuring Tenderbelly bacon and their house signature hot sauce.

509 Rio Grande St. | Executive chef and owner Callie Speer has produced the most epic biscuit sandwiches in town as these beasts are the size of a giant burger.  Choose from the Casbah, stacked with fried chicken, hot honey-buttered biscuit, comeback sauce, fried egg and syrup.  If you’re in the mood for BBQ, go for The Local, loaded with Stiles Switch brisket & pulled pork, warm biscuit, soft scrambled eggs, BBQ sauce, green apple slices, and cheddar cheese.

7800 south 1st st. | Chef Ryan Rosen’s offers a delicious menu of three scratch-made breakfast sandwiches made with their house-crafted buttermilk biscuits.  You’ll find other bun options, but if you’re going for breakfast you’ll want to stick with Ryan’s flaky, buttery biscuits.

609 W 6th St. | Walton’s has been a breakfast staple in Austin for over 10 years.  Their famous biscuit sandwich has always been a go-to for anyone downtown, featuring a fried egg, white cheddar, aioli with choice of bacon, sausage, ham or tomato.
