If your happy hour routine has been feeling a little flat, Uptown Sports Club might be the jolt you didn’t know you needed.

One of East Austin’s favorite spots just gave its happy hour a solid upgrade. What used to run from 2 to 5 p.m. now goes an hour longer, stretching to 6 p.m. every weekday. But the real headline here isn’t the time. It’s what’s on the menu.

Uptown’s new boudain croquette is crispy on the outside, rich and savory on the inside, and somehow only nine bucks. The pimento cheese burger comes loaded, messy in a good way, and priced at ten dollars. You can still get the shrimp and crab salad, now part of the happy hour lineup, and the grilled Gulf oysters are now an even better deal, half a dozen for just thirteen.

Then there’s the drink menu.

Two new martinis have been added to the mix, and both feel like Uptown just decided to have a little fun. The Mar-TEA-ni uses rosemary black tea-infused gin. It’s subtle, smooth, and kind of unexpectedly refreshing. The Kind-a Big Dill-tini, on the other hand, leans hard into savory. Made with dill-infused Tito’s, pickle juice, and everything bagel seasoning, it’s like a full-on snack and cocktail rolled into one. Both are ten bucks and definitely not your usual vodka-soda situation.

But the real sleeper hit might be the Beertuni menu. Inspired by co-founder James Moody’s dad, who used to order dressed-up beers back in his college days, these are cold beers with briny, quirky garnishes that feel like they came out of someone’s Eastside backyard.

The OG is a Coors Banquet with olives and olive juice. The Eastside uses Modelo with Tajín, lime, and sweet drop peppers. And then there’s Popped Blue Collar, which is PBR dressed with lemon and cocktail onions. Each one is five fifty. Add a shot of your favorite well spirit for the same price, and you’re looking at one of the better value pairings in town.

No loud hype here. Just solid food, playful drinks, and a happy hour that feels more like a hang with regulars than a race to beat the clock.
