Amid the COVD-19 epidemic, Summer travel has limited Austinites on their selections of destinations.  In order to practice effective social distancing guidelines, we’re avoiding flying on crowded plans and opting for short road trips in Texas.  We recently visited the central Texas town of Salado, Texas, only 45 mins North of Austin, to stay at the Stagecoach Inn.

The building was originally constructed in 1861 making it the oldest and most historic structure in Salado.  It’s also known to have been visited by famous and distinguished historical figures like Sam Houston, George Custer, Robert E. Lee, and notorious outlaw Jesse James.  It was restored and opened in 1943 and has built a reputation as one of the most charming destinations for travelers, events, and dining to generations of families.
