The Hotel Van Zandt will provide a glimpse into its exciting live music program with a pre-opening “Road to Rainey” showcase on Friday, August 28 at The Blackheart (86 Rainey Street). The Road to Rainey Showcase at The Blackheart will feature three artists in residence: Julian Acosta, Benjamin Cina and KP & the Boom Boom. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the music starts at 8:30 p.m.

The woman behind the scenes of the hotel’s music program is Lauren Bucherie, Hotel Van Zandt’s Director of Music and Social Programming. A veteran of the music and entertainment industry, Bucherie is responsible for booking all live entertainment and curating the musical vibe of Hotel Van Zandt and Geraldine’s.

Opening fall 2015, Geraldine’s is located on the fourth floor of Hotel Van Zandt, the latest concept from the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. In homage to its Rainey Street location, the restaurant is named after the street’s famous former resident, Geraldine the guinea fowl. In addition to its contemporary Austin menu and cocktail program, Geraldine’s will feature daily live music and breathtaking views of Lady Bird Lake.
