Austin must have done something right, because CMT is bringing their Music Awards back to the Moody Center this April 7th with Kelsea Ballerini back to host the show. Last year was the first time the event was held outside of Nashville, and Texans came out in droves to get a glimpse of their favorite acts in country music.

The awards had the city excited for this new era of country music with pre-recorded performances in front of the state capitol that were open to the public. Those shows included Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Darius Rucker and The Black Crowes. This year, acclaimed rockers, NEEDTOBREATHE and country hitmaker Jordan Davis, will team up for a special outdoor taping of CMT Crossroads ahead of the CMT Music Awards.

This special performance will be filmed in front of a live audience at UT Austin on Friday, April 5th, giving fans a one-of-a-kind opportunity to be a part of CMT’s longest-running music series. All fans must register in advance to attend the “CMT Crossroads” taping here, so get to that link and register ASAP.

The first round of musical performers at the CMT Music Awards have also been announced, including Bailey Zimmerman, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson and Sam Hunt. More performers and presenters will be revealed in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes open for those announcements.

There are 14 first-time nominees from a variety of genres, including Amber Riley, Ashley Cooke, Bret Michaels, Chayce Beckham, Hozier, Koe Wetzel, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tyler Childers, Warren Zeiders, Zach Bryan, Anne Wilson, Ella Langley , The Castellows and Tigirlily Gold. The show is also known for it’s fan interaction, with fan voting now open at vote.cmt.com through April 1st for most of the categories. The voting for the “Video of the Year” awards will remain active into the live show.

Tickets are available via Ticketmaster and MoodyCenterATX.com so go get your seats and be a part of the most exciting night in country music.
