Executive Chef Harold Marmulstein, of Salty Sow, is unveiling his newest venture, Tumble 22 Hot Chicken, a food truck to be stationed at Fifth and Walsh streets in downtown Austin which will be opening on May 8th. Tumble 22 features a menu of hot fried chicken specialties inspired from his visit to Nashville, Tennessee where Chef Harold fell in love with the city’s popular chicken.
While Tumble 22’s menu is inspired from Nashville roots, chef Harold will feature his own Austin-style and version of the classic hot chicken, which is all-natural sourced in Texas containing no preservatives or additives.
Each dish is tumbled in seasoned flour, fried and coated in Harold’s special secret blend of seasonings and dipped in a choice of four chef-made sauces: Wimpy, Hot, Dang Hot and Fire in the Hole.
Tumble 22’s menu include the options like the O.G. Classic Chicken Sandwich ($8), which features boneless white meat dipped in any favorite sauce, topped with kale slaw, bread-and-butter pickles and Duke’s Mayonnaise; the Southern Chicken Sandwich ($7), a boneless chicken thigh tossed in your choice of flavors and piled with kale slaw, bread-and-butter pickles and Duke’s Mayo; Chicken Tips ($7.50), featuring white-meat tips coated in a choice of hot sauce and served with chicken fat fries; and Chicken Oysters ($6.50), featuring sauced dark meat served with chicken fat fries. Other than their downtown location, Austinites can expect to find the Tumble 22 food truck making appearances at some of Austin’s best events and festivals keeping hot fried chicken fans well fed.
Tumble 22 is inspired by Nashville’s classic hot fried chicken recipe, and is sure to change the way Austin experiences chicken, featuring a menu of sandwiches and specialty chicken dishes, all served in a choice of house-made sauces, as well as salads, sides and refreshing dips.
