Sushi | Bar Austin has officially reopened in a sleek new space in the heart of the 2nd Street District, bringing its signature 17-course omakase experience to 419 West 2nd Street. The new location doubles down on intimacy and innovation with two 12-seat omakase rooms and a connected cocktail lounge, Golden Ace, offering elevated drinks crafted by Christian “Suzu” Suzuki-Orellana of Drink Masters fame.
Since first arriving in Austin in 2020, Sushi | Bar has earned a loyal following for its immersive chef-led tastings, showcasing premium seafood flown in from Japan, New Zealand, and California. At the new address, Chef Bryan Williams continues to lead the kitchen with precision and creativity, working alongside two-Michelin-starred chef Anthony Martin, Director of Culinary Strategy and Development. Williams trained under Japanese sushi master Smokey, whose influence shaped many of Austin’s most celebrated sushi chefs.

Golden Ace complements the omakase experience with cocktails rooted in Japanese technique and infused with local flair. Guests are invited to arrive early to enjoy a welcome cocktail before stepping into the omakase room for a playful, seasonal progression of nigiri and delicacies.
The relocation also marks a unique collaboration with the Black family of Terry Black’s BBQ, a relationship that grew from mutual admiration and evolved into a downtown partnership.
With expanded seating, a world-class beverage program, and a standout team including former Uchi veteran John Sizemore and hospitality expert Justin Sanford, the new Sushi | Bar Austin offers a refined and transportive experience unlike anything else in the city.
Reservations open on the first of each month for the following month, with nightly seatings available at 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9:15 p.m. Visit sushibarhospitality.com to book.
