Big updates are headed to one of Austin’s most recognizable downtown hotels. Hyatt Regency Austin has officially kicked off a top-to-bottom renovation that will bring a bold new look to the lakeside property—without closing its doors. The refresh is already underway and is expected to wrap by September 2025.

Perched along the edge of Lady Bird Lake, the Hyatt is upgrading everything from its 450 guestrooms and guest corridors to the atrium-style lobby, meeting spaces, and all of its food and beverage venues. If you’ve stayed there before, get ready for a completely new vibe.

The renovation is being done in phases to keep the hotel open and minimize guest disruptions. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

While the full transformation is still in progress, guests can already check out one of the newly reimagined spaces—the outdoor pool and cabanas. Now open for the season, the space offers a glimpse of what the refreshed hotel experience will look like once everything is complete.

Expect upgraded guest rooms with a stylish modern design, more inviting public spaces, and a new energy flowing through every corner of the hotel—from lobby to lounge to late-night bar.

Stay tuned for more details as the renovations progress and Austin’s lakeside skyline gets an elevated update.
