It’s sometimes difficult to be unostentatious in a city that makes headlines daily for its culinary offerings and hip cocktail scene, but Austin’s Winebelly, a quiet, little wine bar on Oltorf can now count itself as one of the “Top 20 Wine Bars in America.”
Wine Enthusiast Magazine, which is solely dedicated to spotlighting all-things wine and wine related, recently listed Winebelly as one of the top wine bars in the nation highlighting the bar’s eclectic yet accessible wine menu and showcasing the unique ambience referring to it as “mellow”. One bar was chosen from each major city, which is a great accomplishment considering Austin hosts so many great wine bars.
As someone who frequents this little jewel on the south side, I believe Wine Enthusiast got this right. Aside from great wine priced well, Winebelly offers a tasty yet simple menu. Patron favorites include the chicken liver mousse (one of the best in the city), and carefully curated charcuterie. If you haven’t experienced happy hour at Winebelly, you need to.
Winebelly is located at 519 W Oltorf Street. For more information, go here: https://austinwinebelly.com/.
