Grapefruit season is here (right?) and Austin Eastciders is launching their all new Ruby Red Grapefruit cider to their popular line-up of pre-Prohibition style of Texas ciders. The new offering is a refreshing and slightly tart cider made with Ruby Red Grapefruits from the Texas Rio Grande Valley.
“The Ruby Red grapefruit’s unique bitter-yet-sweet taste profile beautifully complements our crisp, dry, Old World-style cider,” said Brittany Mathieu, R&D Manager, Austin Eastciders. “And the red grapefruit is the official state fruit of Texas. It’s meant to be!”
“Americans are falling in love with cider all over again and we’re thrilled to be part of that with our sessionable, easy-drinking ciders,” said Johnny Heiselberg, CEO, Austin Eastciders. “Our last variety, Blood Orange, helped us grow by 144% from 2016 to 2017*.”
Eastciders just shipped over 500,000 cases of it’s popular cider last year, it’s 4th year in operation, and recently opened a 1,960-square-foot tasting room in its hometown. Austin Eastciders is currently the number one craft cider in entire state of Texas and the number three nationwide.
Austin Eastciders Ruby Red Grapefruit will land on store shelves and bar taps across Texas, Oklahoma, Philadelphia, DC and New York as wel as other markets across the Mid-Atlantic on February 26. It’s available in 6-pack and 12-pack 12-oz cans, and on draft.
