(Dripping Springs, Texas) San Luis Spirits, Inc., distiller of Dripping Springs Vodka and Gin announced today that their popular Wildlife Labels are scheduled to hit select shelves across Texas by Labor Day Weekend.
The release marks the third year the limited edition bottles have been made available to the public, building a new tradition that was imagined by the distillery’s Treasurer Susan Kelleher.
“Having a background in art I often thought about doing a series of artist vodka labels,” said Kelleher. “The opportunity arose to have access to Hill Country Artist Charles Beckendorf’s wildlife prints, and the Dripping Springs Limited Edition Wildlife Labels were born.”
The 2015 limited edition bottles feature the work of four local Texan artists whose designs were chosen through an art contest.
“We received wonderful submissions from all over the state,” said Kelleher. “The four winning entries came from Austin, Florence, Katy, and Spring Branch, Texas.”
The Hawk Series, titled “Flying High” by artist Justin Jansen of Florence, Texas is featured on 10,000 limited edition 750ml wildlife series bottles.
“I’m writing my autobiography one shutter click at a time,” said Jansen, who became a photographer at the age of 16. He started photographing rodeos without any idea that his Dad had done the same, and as time moved on Justin transitioned to wildlife and landscape photography.
“The Nutty Buck” Series was designed by artist Faye Barber, a self-taught freelance artist and graphic designer living in Katy, Texas. Barber believes color, beauty, and inspiration can be found anywhere one looks, particularly in nature. Influenced by her grandmother’s artistic abilities and inspired by her supportive husband and two beautiful children, Faye Barber gracefully mixes life, imagination, and color into her works of art, which can be found at various art shows and galleries throughout Texas.
The Bobwhite Quail Series, titled “Solitude at Sam’s Camp” is the work of artist Belinda Nagy. Belinda is an avid hunter and fisherman with a profound love of the outdoors. She channels her outdoor experiences and interactions into her art, and brings nature, animals and landscapes to life through oil and acrylic painting and drawing. Belinda is a self-taught artist who resides in Spring Branch, Texas with her husband Ed. She takes pride in developing her 13 grandchildren into the next generation of hunters, fishermen, and artists.
The Bull Series, titled “Bold & Beautiful,” is the work of artist Sonali Kukreja of Austin, Texas. Sonali was born in India and has a Masters in Psychology. After moving to Austin with her husband, art became a catharsis for her chronic health issues. She strives to bring serenity and inspiration through her diverse body of paintings, which have been distributed worldwide including Austin, Dallas, New York, and Paris.
“The Nutty Buck” and The Bobwhite Quail series are featured on 6,500 limited edition labels, while The Bull Series is limited to 5,000 bottles. All three labels can be purchased in 1.75 Liter bottles.
The launch of the Dripping Springs Vodka Limited Edition Wildlife Labels coincides with National Wilderness Month.
