Austin is about to get a major new playground for grown-ups. Pins Mechanical Co., a retro-inspired entertainment hub known for duckpin bowling, arcade games, and craft cocktails, is opening a massive 43,000-square-foot space in the St. Elmo district. The new location, slated to open in spring 2025, will be the largest Pins Mechanical Co. venue yet.

The Columbus, Ohio-based concept, operated by Rise Brands, is making an entry into Austin’s thriving social and nightlife scene. Pins Mechanical Co. offers nostalgia-fueled gaming with a lively bar atmosphere, including 20 duckpin bowling lanes, 25 pinball machines, 29 classic arcade games, foosball, ping pong, and oversized yard games like Giant Lite Brite, Jenga, and Connect Four.

Drinks are also a central part of the experience, with three bars serving craft cocktails, local and regional beers, and non-alcoholic alternatives, including THC-infused seltzers and cocktails. There won’t be a kitchen, but guests can bring in their own food or order from rotating food trucks parked outside.

The space, which repurposes the former St. Elmo Public Market, will feature a mezzanine with additional bowling lanes, a spacious courtyard, and an expansive patio with fire pits. With a 1,399-person capacity, Pins Mechanical Co. aims to be a go-to destination for both casual outings and private events.

“As someone who’s always loved Austin, I knew it would be a perfect fit for Pins,” said Troy Allen, CEO of Rise Brands. “Our goal is to create a space where people can connect, have fun, and make memories. St. Elmo is a special neighborhood, and we’re excited to be part of its growth.”

Beyond gaming, Pins Mechanical Co. will bring its Quarters for a Cause program to Austin, which donates all arcade game quarters to Ronald McDonald House Charities. The venue will also host community-focused events and philanthropic programming.

Located at 4323 South Congress Avenue, Pins Mechanical Co. will be open daily, with 21+ entry after 9 p.m. No reservations are needed, and private event packages will be available. For more details, visit www.pinsbar.com/locations/austin.
