Hawaiian Bros opened May 11 at Kitchen United Mix, at 8023 Burnet Road. Hawaiian Bros’ menu centers around the Hawaiian Plate Lunch, a comfort-food fusion of succulent, savory meat and hearty island side dishes.
The Hawaiian Bros menu centers around fresh, flavorful meats, like slow-roasted pulled pork and marinated teriyaki chicken, served alongside white rice and tangy macaroni salad. Having loved Hawaiian cuisine for decades — but never finding authentic fare on the mainland — owners and brothers Cameron and Tyler McNie learned to craft the Hawaiian plate lunch and authentic island favorites like Spam Musubi.
The owners hope to make the Hawaiian Plate Lunch, which is priced at under $10, just as revered and loved on the mainland as it is on the islands. This is the McNies’ first Austin concept. They own several restaurants in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
“Our mission is to treat everyone like family or Ohana,” said Cameron McNie, co-owner and founder of Hawaiian Bros. “And we look forward to expanding our Austin Ohana one meal at a time.”
Hawaiian Bros is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. for takeout and delivery only. Order online or call 512.777.2916, Ext 2230.
