Best Bites of The Texas Monthly BBQ Festival 2014

September 14 marked one of the most anticipated food events of the year at the The Texas Monthly BBQ Festival.  Every 5 years, Texas Monthly Magazine selects an elite list of the top 50 BBQ Joints around our great big state, inviting them to the biggest meat festival known to man.

If there’s an official BBQ holiday in Texas, this would be it, as the scene was filled with the most beautiful display of smoked meat anyone can possibly imagine.  Our usual favorites La Barbecue, Stiles Switch and Franklin’s were stellar as expected, but the beauty of the festival allows attendees to sample the crafted fare from all over the state.

Great hot spots like Pody’s BBQ, Lockhart Smokehouse and Cousin’s BBQ were in attendance, giving us a special taste on what we’d otherwise plan a road trip.  Believe it or not, we managed to snap a few dozen photos between stuffing our faces.
