Austin-based Tequila 512 has secured more than $1 million in growth funding from private investors. Scott Willis, president and founder of Tequila 512, plans to use the new funding to add team members, boost advertising and marketing budgets, and expand into new markets.

Willis launched the company in November 2012 with the ambition of making “the perfect anytime tequila” using volcanic spring water and estate grown blue agave from Jalisco, Mexico. Since its founding, the tequila has been well received and the company has experienced tremendous growth.

In 2015, the company realized 60 percent year-over-year sales growth, and is on track for more than 70 percent growth in 2016. Tequila 512 is currently sold in more than 300 locations across the state of Texas and can be found in nearly every retail location in Austin that sells distilled spirits.
