Well, this is exciting. Team Feast Presents – the geniuses behind the fantabulous Feast Portland – is now the official production, sponsorship, and marketing partner for Taste Washington. As someone who has attended every Feast Portland – okay, I missed the very first one – and who had the chance to attend Taste Washington for the very first time this past Spring, I am thrilled to hear about this partnership made in heaven.
So what does this great news meant to you? It means the Taste Washington 2020 promises to be the best one ever with new overall brand and refreshed look and feel. And their new festival lineup makes me want March 2020 to get here right this very second!
Think of it as the natural evolution of a tried and true festival that is committed to moving forward. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” can lead to stagnation, something that Taste Washington would never settle for. That’s why this year’s guests can expect all sorts of exciting changes, including a brand-new Thursday night Dinner Series at some of Seattle’s top restaurants, an enormous Friday Night event at Pier 66, and a move for The New Vintage to Saturday night.
Don’t worry, Washington State’s fantabulous wines will be front and center as always, as will the remarkably inventive and deliciously fresh culinary scene of Seattle and beyond. The Grand Tasting – an impossibly large celebration of Washington wine all in one spot – will be back once again at CenturyLink Field Event Center. And, changes for Taste Washington that were already underway last year, will now be in full force, including a renewed focus on culinary talent, innovative programming, and all sorts of wine and food focused surprises.
I am particularly thrilled to hear that Taste Washington’s sit-down Sunday Brunch event will be back. The perfect way to wind up a perfect weekend of wine and food by celebrating with people who love it as much as you do. Bounty from the Pacific Northwest will be paired with Washington bubbly designed to thrill. Sounds like my kind of brunching.
Taste Washington 2019 was such an amazing weekend – the wine, the food, the people, the city of Seattle and all of the magic it has to offer from Chihuly’s Garden and Glass to the Space Needle to the Aquarium to Pike’s Place Market. I admit, I love Seattle, and as many times as I go, I always discover something new and leave inspired, especially when it comes to their food and wine scene. Cannot wait to be back in the heart of it. If you want to partake, be sure to mark your calendar for March 19-22. Tickets for Taste Washington go on sale January 17, 2020 and won’t last long.
Happy Tasting!

New Orleans, LA - On October 22, 2024, I recently had an opportunity to attend the grand opening of Caesars New Orleans, marking the completion of a stunning $435 million transformation of the former Harrah’s New Orleans. It was an evening to remember, filled with excitement, luxury, and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The festivities began on Canal Street with an exhilarating ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, and Caesars New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad. The atmosphere was electric as they joined Caesar himself and an iconic New Orleans second-line band in a lively procession into the casino. It felt like the entire city had come out to celebrate, with Caesars New Orleans team members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell also joining the event to commemorate this historic occasion. Anthony Carano’s pride in introducing Caesars to New Orleans was palpable. “From local favorite Emeril Lagasse to our long-time partner, Chef Nobu, to the beautiful state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, all-new rooms and gaming floor, and of course, our gorgeous new center bar, Octavia, Caesars New Orleans offers something for everyone. It’s a world-class resort in the heart of the Big Easy, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” he said. The ceremony was a spectacle, kicking off with an iconic Mardi Gras float featuring Caesar and his court, and a dazzling firework show that lit up the New Orleans sky. The second-line band then led us revelers into the resort’s elegant center bar, Octavia, where we indulged in a “Taste of Caesars New Orleans.” Each bite from the six on-property restaurants was a delightful journey, capturing the essence of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene. Throughout the night, elemental entertainers, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Mardi Gras Indians, Zulu Tramps, and showgirls, created an authentic and unforgettable Big Easy experience. Everywhere I turned, there was something new to marvel at, each performance more mesmerizing than the last. Samir Mowad, SVP and GM of Caesars New Orleans, highlighted the significance of the transformation, stating, “This year marks 25 years since we opened in New Orleans, and the completion of this project is the perfect way to usher in a new era with Caesars. Synonymous with the Caesars name, our new resort is pure elegance, and we’re excited to introduce a luxury brand like this to New Orleans. We are extremely grateful for the support of the community, our team members, and our guests as we come to the finish line of this tremendous transformation.” The hotel itself is impressive,…
