Longhorn Meat Market will celebrate their 50th birthday in style with an evening of barbecue, brews and more at their East Austin shop with Austin BBQ influencer, Jimmy Ho (@thesmokingho), on Sunday, June 30 from 4 to 8 p.m.
This milestone celebration—which commemorates 50 years in Longhorn Meat Market’s current location in the east Austin neighborhood—will offer the community an evening spent in true Texas style. Freshly-smoked BBQ from the market will be the highlight, including features like brisket, chicken, Longhorn’s specialty house-made sausages and more prepared by pit master Jimmy Ho of The Smoking Ho. Longhorn has partnered up with Belgian beer bar Mort Subite to offer kegged beer in addition to Uncle Billy’s Brewery & Smokehouse canned craft cocktails, which will be available for purchase on-site.
This family-friendly event will also have lawn games, face painters, local farm and ranch vendors, live music for all to enjoy and a designated table featuring Longhorn’s dog food and custom cut dog bones, so be sure to bring your pups!
Tickets are $30 and available for purchase through Eventbrite. A ticket purchase includes one BBQ plate, still and sparkling water (courtesy of Richard’s Rainwater), yard games and activities, face painting, live music and entry into the raffle, where guests will get chances to win gift cards and prizes throughout the day. Kids ages 12 and under will eat for free.
