La Cantera Resort & Spa, part of the Destination Hotels collection, has set the stage for the future of resort and leisure travel evolving as an “Embrace & Escape” family destination.  The resort‘s extensive transformation culminates with the opening of The Villas, an intimate exclusive separate enclave with the full amenities of the main resort, and SEVEN, an exclusive adults-only guest floor that includes, personal concierge and, personal, private check-in.  Both offerings feature complimentary valet parking and day passes to Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness.

The main resort sits atop 550 acres of pristine Texas Hill Country with stunning views, while its 34 Villas are nestled within the heart of the Hill country itself, for an intimate connection to nature’s most precious elements.  Guests can explore winding paths among majestic oak, mesquite and pine trees complemented by metal artworks that glow with fire at dusk and rustic flowing water designs that provide a background of soothing, ambient white noise.

The Villas intimate guest reception also provides respite for small gatherings with its stone fireplace, flat-screen TV equipped to pair with laptops or tablets and a well-stocked barista bar adorned with re-purposed leather cowboy belts embossed into its base.  Just beyond reception a private pool and hot tub are serviced by a marble-clad bar featuring signature hand-crafted cocktails.

With a few welcoming touches in each Villa, every suite includes beautiful hand-blown Mexican glass and artisan ceramic coffee mugs with Nespresso coffees and teas as well as more opulent amenities such as leather ottomans, Harmon/Kardon Bluetooth speaker and ultra-high definition large-screen TVs.  Nearly all rooms have separate tubs and rainfall showers, and elevated Bvlgari bath products.  Many of the King Villas are connected to double Queen Villas and the Briscoe Suite, the largest Villa at 1,800 sq. ft. is equipped with two bedrooms; one with a king and the other with two queens and oversized parlor for entertaining with a fireplace.

At just 34 sleeping rooms, all of The Villas may be reserved, for guests.  Each comes with its own cart for quick trips to Signature Restaurant, Inspired by Chef Andrew Weissman; the main resort; or Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness, a 25,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor secluded sanctuary offering holistic, meditative and restorative treatments.

The SEVEN Experience

While The Villas offer an oasis-within-an-oasis experience, the main resort hotel also has its own getaway with the opening of SEVEN, an adults-only guest floor.  Upon arrival at SEVEN guests enjoy either champagne in the lounge or a SEVEN ambassador can prepare any latte, cappuccino or expresso. Morning small plates and happy hour offered daily.  SEVEN’s 46 rooms offer King-sized beds, Nespresso coffee products, Aromatherapy Associates London bath products, rain showers and an Amazon Echo intelligent personal assistant.

For the Kiddos

While La Cantera Resort & Spa has focused on creating several adult-minded escapes, new kid’s- activities provide younger guests several escapes of their own, “parents-optional.” This gives families the chance to revel with time together and guilt-free time apart. Together, new offerings include an expanded arcade that has tripled in size; which is equipped with pool table, foosball, air hockey and high definition adventure and skill video games. The original arcade space features games for younger kids.

The expanded Kid’s Club offers an array of diversion to keep the little ones entertained; movies, art-explosion, crafts, video games, outdoor excursions, smore’s, and more. Beginning July 1, the new Kid’s Spa area will offer simple, yet fun kid-friendly spa-like activities. Parents are welcome to join or they can leave younger guests to supervised fun, while taking in a cabana at Topaz, adult pool or enjoy the spa.  Due to demand, reservations are encouraged but not always necessary.

The resort‘s kid’s pool area features two water slides with one extra-wide for the entire family. Paddleboards and a myriad of pool toys and games are available for rent and purchase. The Game Court nearby is a popular attraction and is also stocked with Texas cornhole games.

All pools are equipped with private cabañas for up to eight, each with a flat-screen TV, refrigerator and optional bottle service.  Professional cabaña wait staff will serve drinks from the adults-only pool bar Topaz or nearby Vista Grille.

These new additions represent the finishing touches on the ambitious re-imagination of La Cantera Resort & Spa. A family resort equally designed for adults to be adults, kids to be kids, families to both Embrace and Escape the throws of life…and on occasion, each other.

La Cantera Resort & Spa Embrace and Escape adventure awaits, reserve online at www.lacanteraresort.com or call (855) 499.2960.
