NBCUniversal Local has introduced a new five-part series titled “Breaking Baguettes,” featuring celebrity chef Kevin D’Andrea and current and retired Olympians. The series explores the intersection of food, dining, and French culture, culminating in the preparation of exquisite French cuisine in honor of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Kevin D’Andrea, a celebrated French chef and owner of Foliepop’s bakery in Austin, Texas, takes center stage in this series. D’Andrea, who was a finalist on Top Chef France in 2015 and named “Best Young Chef of 2016” in France, is currently competing on Bravo’s Top Chef: Wisconsin.
The series, filmed at GhostLine Kitchens in Austin, will release new half-hour episodes from June 4 to June 18. Viewers can catch the episodes on NBC and Telemundo-owned stations, regional sports networks, streaming and digital platforms, Peacock, and the NBC Sports YouTube page.
“Breaking Baguettes” features a lineup of distinguished athletes who have represented Team USA at the highest levels of competition. Some of these athletes will be competing in France this summer. The cast includes gold-medalist swimmer Lydia Jacoby, divers Hailey Hernandez and Alison Gibson, track and field stars Christina and Kyle Clemons, NBA legend David Robinson and his son, NBC Sports’ Corey Robinson, and silver-medalist decathlete Trey Hardee, who now serves as an NBC Olympics analyst.
Episodes will be accessible on NBC and Telemundo-owned stations’ free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) news channels and NBC LX Home. These channels are available on leading streaming and connected-TV platforms, as well as the stations’ websites and apps. Additionally, “Breaking Baguettes” content will feature on NBC owned stations and NBC Sports Regional Networks’ programming and social media platforms.
