The Mockingbird marks the third food & beverage concept at the Austin Proper Hotel’s ground floor, joining two other restaurants unveiled earlier this year — The Peacock Mediterranean Grill and Goldie’s Sunken Bar. All three concepts are set within famed interior designer, Kelly Wearstler’s airy designs, and provide Austin’s local touch to the hotel group’s first venture in Texas.
Inspired by cuisines of Mediterranean, The Peacock is a new restaurant located in Austin Proper. The restaurant serves a menu that is colorful, loosely plated and geared towards sharing, available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as in-room dining.
The sprawling bar provides a full dining experience while a condensed all-day menu is offered throughout the lobby and outdoor lounges to guests of the hotel and visitors alike.
A backroom wine cellar opens to a private dining room for up to 12, that includes a shady secluded patio that allows guests to overlook Shoal Creek and an urban trail that runs through the heart of downtown Austin. Photos here (credit: Matt Harrington).
