The National Donut Day Eating Contest comes to Austin

The 2nd Annual Hostess Donettes-Eating Contest is coming to Austin on this Friday for National Donut Day! Returning champion Joey Chestnut and other top-ranked eaters, sanctioned by Major League Eating, the Donettes, will be competing for $8,000 in prizes on Friday, June 7th at Barton Creek Square Mall

Last year, Joey Chestnut ate a world record of 257 Hostess Donettes in six minutes at the competition. This year, he is expected to defend his record, as faces fierce competition from No. 3-ranked Geoffrey Esper of Oxford, MA, and Austin- local, No. 17-ranked Juan Neave, who has his eye on the prize.

The event will take place 12:00 P.M. – 1:15 P.M at the Barton Creek Mall and will be held inside near the entrance to JCPenny.
