This fall, Austin’s Tarrytown neighborhood will welcome a new Southwestern-inspired bar and grill, Teddy’s, brought to life by the dynamic duo behind Bill’s Oyster—Daniel Berg and Dylan Salisbury. Set to open in November, Teddy’s promises to be a vibrant neighborhood spot, led by Executive Chef Rene Garza, whose resume includes impressive stints at Uptown Sports Club, Este, and Suerte.

Named after Berg’s son Edward, affectionately called “Teddy,” the restaurant will showcase an inviting, warm space reflecting its Southwestern roots. The 80-seat establishment features a stylish blend of dark wood accents and a copper bar, offering 40 indoor seats and a temperature-controlled outdoor patio that seats 40—perfect for dining year-round.

Bold Southwestern Menu with a Texas Twist

Teddy’s menu will celebrate the unique flavors of Texas with bold Southwestern flair and a Mexican influence. Executive Chef Rene Garza, known for his work in some of Austin’s top kitchens, is excited to bring his expertise to the new concept. “At Teddy’s, we want to celebrate the unique flavors of Texas, blending the bold and rich influences of Mexican cuisine with a modern Southwestern twist,” says Garza.

Diners can look forward to standout dishes like Texas Red Chili, Filet Mignon with Chile Relleno, Blue Crab Tostada, and Parker House Rolls with Cinnamon Ancho Butter. The menu will offer something for everyone, from casual weekday meals to special occasions, ensuring Teddy’s becomes a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.

Craft Cocktails and More

The bar program will be just as exciting, featuring craft cocktails, martini specialties, frozen drinks, and a curated wine list. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing drink after work or enjoying a laid-back weekend with friends, Teddy’s promises to deliver.

A New Neighborhood Hangout

According to Berg, the goal is to create a relaxed space where friends and families can come together. “We want Teddy’s to be a place where families and friends can come together, relax, and enjoy great food and drinks,” says Berg. “It’s a place for everyone, whether you’re stopping in for a casual weekday lunch or celebrating a special occasion.”

Located at 1601 W 38th St Ste 1 in east Tarrytown, Teddy’s will open daily for dinner, with plans to add breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch service shortly after the grand opening.
