The Summer Guide To Austin’s Hottest Happy Hours

We’ve entered that super hot time of the year when every Austinite is looking for the best possible way to cool off while enjoying a few sips and snacks during happy hour.  Some prefer a dip in the pool with a frozen cocktail, or sometimes just sitting in random bar with nice cold air conditioning will do the trick.  Luckily for us our plenty of cool and comfortable options around Austin featuring some the city’s best bites and drinks ready to fill our bellies and wet our willies all summer long.

 

Loro

TIMES:  Monday – Friday 2:30 PM to 5PM

Loro, the Asian smokehouse from Chef Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin recently launched an all new happy hour menu, featuring half off-Boozy Slushees, all wines and sake on tap, and Kirin Ichiban Lager. The bites available include three options exclusive to the happy hour menu, including Salmon Belly Tartare ($7), Smoked Brisket Tostadas ($7), Burger with patty made from a mix of prime brisket and smoked bavette, with red onion brisket jam, Muenster cheese, jalapeno aioli, pickles and butter lettuce on a brioche bun ($8); and the fan-favorite Chicken Karaage, which also appears on Loro’s regular menu, rounds out the happy hour offering ($6).  2115 S Lamar Blvd.

 

 

Walton’s Fancy & Staple

TIMES: Daily 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Walton’s recently launched their new happy hourBon Apero!  Long and lazy summer nights make for the perfect time to take a cue from the très chic French and embrace the tradition of apéritif—drinks and bites enjoyed before dinner to arouse the appetite.  Enjoy Bon Apero! every Thursday – Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, featuring $5 snacks and $6 cocktails 609 W. 6th Street.

 

 

La Matta

TIMES:  Daily 4 to 7 p.m.

La Matta ​and neighborhood Italian restaurant Il Brutto ​have recently launched happy hours at both restaurants.  La Matta boasts a daily happy hour, featuring 25% off tap wines and featured beers that pair great with a lively game of scopa or alongside our paninis, salads and mozzarella boards.  501 Comal St

 

 

IL Brutto

HAPPY HOUR:  Monday – Friday  5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Il Brutto’s happy hour features half-off specials on the entire drink menu, including cocktails, wine by the bottle, and an expansive amaro list every Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.   1601 E 6th St.

 

 

T22

TIMES:  Monday-Friday 3 PM to 6 PM

T22 features a spicy new summer happy hour which includes $4 bites like chicken oysters, bone-in chicken thigh with a side, hot chicken salad, loaded Mac-n-cheese and dirty fries with ranch dip.  Drink specials include $4 draft beers, $2 off house cocktails & wine and $3 slices of housemade pie.   7211 Burnet Rd.

 

The Cavalier

TIME: Every Monday 7-11 pm

The new east Austin pub features BOGO Burger Nights, every Monday from 7-11 pm., where guests can buy one burger and get one free.  Pair the burgers with one of their boozy tiki-inspired Zombie Cocktails or any of their delicious frozen drinks.

 

Boiler Nine Bar + Grill

TIMES:  Daily 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Take a reprieve from the Texas heat with Boiler Nine’s new bar snacks. Exclusive to the restaurant’s main bar and bar in the Boiler Room Lounge during dinner service, enjoy special summer-oriented dishes including a rotating Beef Skewer, which is currently featuring a Szechuan Pepper Marinated Shoulder Tender with chilled soba saladbasilmintcucumber and chiles($13). Yuyo

TIMES:   Tuesday – Thursday 4:30pm to 6:30pm

At Yuyo, Austin’s first contemporary Peruvian restaurant, Chef Maribel Rivero serves up Peruvian cebiche year round, always chilled, always fresh and always perfect for a hot summer day. Cebiche is the national dish of Peru and carries with it a lot of history and culture aside from the flavorful ingredients.  Happy hour deals on snacks and drinks include the signature Purple Drank, Pisco Punch and their popular Rosé Sangria.  Several tasty happy hour bites include yuca croquetes, crispy calamari and pork belly bao buns.  1900 Manor Rd.

 

 

Second Bar + Kitchen-Domain NORTHSIDE

TIMES:  Daily 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The debut of the refreshed space comes with a new Lobby Lounge Happy Hour at Second Bar + Kitchen Domain NORTHSIDE. Offered daily in the freshly remodeled space, Archer Austin guests and Second Bar + Kitchen Domain NORTHSIDE diners can indulge in an unbeatable happy hour.  A variety of wine, beer and refreshing libations and rotating classic cocktails will be priced at $5 each, as well as half off select bottles of wine.  Fan-favorite snacks will also be available for $5 each.  Plus, plates and signature pizzas, including the Congress Burger and Black and Bleu pizza, will be $10 during happy hour.  3121 Palm Way #101

 

 

Hopdoddy

TIMES:  MondayFriday  3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Suns out, Buns out! Hopdoddy just launched their new rotating Brew Series Burger and it’s on happy hour Monday through Friday from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m. for just $5!   Hopdoddy’s expanded “shareables” section takes the burger bar’s hand cut Kennebec and sweet potato fries up a notch with crave-worthy toppings. In addition to the fan-favorite Parmesan Truffle and Green Chile Queso Fries, new shareables include Buffalo Fries topped with buffalo sauce, blue cheese crumbles, chives, ranchand Hot Honey and Sage Fries featuring sweet potato fries smothered with sweet-spicy honey and fried sage + rosemary.   During happy hour, pints and the featured burgers—a limited-time, handcrafted burger that pairs well with or incorporates one of the month’s featured beers—will be priced at $5. Fans can expect a spotlight on local hefeweizens along with the Kahuna Burger in June, followed by a saison feature and the Carolina Burger in July.  Locations in Austin and Round Rock.

 

 

Trace

TIMES:  Daily 5 pm to 7 pm

Why limit Rosé to just one day? Rosé all day summer with half price bottles at TRACE downtown every day throughout summer. Through the end of September, TRACE will be offering 1/2 priced bottles of Rosé , 7 days a week. Also enjoy Rosé Wednesdays in the Front Yard with $7 Frosé and live music by Joshua Klaus during happy hour from 5pm – 7pm.  200 Lavaca St
