Do512, Alamo Drafthouse, and The Long Center has recently announced the return of their free summer event series, Sound & Cinema, one of Austin’s most popular summer events, drawing thousands of people to the lawn at The Long Center to enjoy an evening of outdoor family fun with an amazing view of downtown.

Now entering its seventh season, the event series features unique pairings of classic films with popular bands hand-picked from Texas. The bands perform a musical tribute to the movie, followed by a screening of the film on Alamo’s giant inflatable outdoor screen, with the Austin skyline providing a picturesque backdrop.

In addition to music and movies, the four-event summer series will feature a selection of Austin’s best food trucks, including Garbo’s, Peached Tortilla, Uncle Louie G’s, Evil Weiner, Rosarito & Amy’s Ice Creams. There will also be full bar service on the terrace, offering a variety of cocktails, craft beers, and non-alcoholic drinks.

Sound & Cinema 2019 will take place on the lawn at The Long Center on select Wednesdays in June, July, and August. Each event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.

Wednesday, June 19: The Goonies

Wednesday, July 10: Guardians of the Galaxy

Wednesday, July 31: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The food trucks will open at 6 pm each night, with the sunset concerts beginning around 7:30 pm. The movies will begin shortly after dark (around 8:45 pm).
