Summer is is almost here and travel season beckons.  It’s been a tough year for a lot of people so far and you just can’t wait to get out of town for vacation or atleast a little getaway for the weekend.  Leaving town for a peaceful getaway is an absolute priority but you’re probably in no mood for loud children or large crowds. After the year you’ve had so far you probably desire something a peaceful, blissful getaway with your lover or spouse.  Serenity isn’t as far as away as you may think. In fact, it’s just a 30 minute drive from Austin.

Sage Hill Inn & Spa is just a short drive from the heart of Austin, on 90 acres in the rolling hills of Kyle, TX.  The modern bed and breakfast is a stunning boutique destination boasting sprawling views of the lush central Texas Hill Country making it one of the most ideal settings for a romantic getaway.  If you’re looking for peaceful serenity, you’ll fall in love with every aspect of Sage Hill Inn.  From sunrise to sunset, the views are spectacular at every moment of the day as the sky is unimpaired by the city’s lights and noisy distractions.  The lush property is rich with area wildlife including deer, antelope, wild turkey, and foxes.  The pristine bed and breakfast has received praise for everyone that visits the property, including notable reviews from Forbes Magazine and Texas Monthly.

Accomodations

Sage Hill Inn has 16 individual rooms including four private cottages and several luxury suites. All rooms include a spacious environment with a fireplace, luxurious bathrooms, and relaxing porch setting boasting the Inn’s thoughtful features.  Our visit included a stay in the property’s most impressive accommodations; The Ranch House.  The house is a newly renovated 2000 square foot, 3-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath custom home with plenty of space for a group or a family to spread out for a relaxing weekend.  Other amenities include an 8-person jetted hot tub in the woods, a large outdoor fire pit, wood burning fireplace, a large living room, satellite HD television, free Wi-Fi and a luxury gourmet kitchen loaded with appropriate dishware to prepare any meal. The rates for the Ranch House starts at $599/night Sunday – Thursday and $699/night Friday – Saturday.

We didn’t get around to preparing any meals in the kitchen, because every stay includes a 3-course dinner and a hot breakfast in the morning. The Restaurant at Sage Hill includes a variety of dinner choices on it’s menu. Executive Chef Autumn Wallace prepares a seasonal three-course prix-fixe dinner menu with plenty of appetizer, entrée and dessert choices, each pairing perfectly with the restaurant’s beer-and-wine selections. Chef Wallace strives to offer nearly 100 percent farm-to-table ingredients from local suppliers showing her dedication local-food movement, creating elegant and approachable menu for a fantastic Hill Country dining experience. The restaurant hosts its guests daily, but is also open to the public, welcoming diners who are not registered at the property.

Caesars Entertainment Unveils Stunning Transformation with the Grand Opening of Caesars New Orleans

New Orleans, LA - On October 22, 2024, I recently had an opportunity to attend the grand opening of Caesars New Orleans, marking the completion of a stunning $435 million transformation of the former Harrah’s New Orleans. It was an evening to remember, filled with excitement, luxury, and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The festivities began on Canal Street with an exhilarating ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, and Caesars New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad. The atmosphere was electric as they joined Caesar himself and an iconic New Orleans second-line band in a lively procession into the casino. It felt like the entire city had come out to celebrate, with Caesars New Orleans team members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell also joining the event to commemorate this historic occasion. Anthony Carano’s pride in introducing Caesars to New Orleans was palpable. “From local favorite Emeril Lagasse to our long-time partner, Chef Nobu, to the beautiful state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, all-new rooms and gaming floor, and of course, our gorgeous new center bar, Octavia, Caesars New Orleans offers something for everyone. It’s a world-class resort in the heart of the Big Easy, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” he said. The ceremony was a spectacle, kicking off with an iconic Mardi Gras float featuring Caesar and his court, and a dazzling firework show that lit up the New Orleans sky. The second-line band then led us revelers into the resort’s elegant center bar, Octavia, where we indulged in a “Taste of Caesars New Orleans.” Each bite from the six on-property restaurants was a delightful journey, capturing the essence of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene. Throughout the night, elemental entertainers, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Mardi Gras Indians, Zulu Tramps, and showgirls, created an authentic and unforgettable Big Easy experience. Everywhere I turned, there was something new to marvel at, each performance more mesmerizing than the last.
