In what is perhaps the most popular event of the Austin Food and Wine Festival, Rock Your Taco brought out some serious appetites and wicked smack-talk as participating top chefs threw down on some of their most creative tacos ever conceived for the hungry crowd in attendance.

After a long, hot and humid day of fun in the sun and stuffing our faces at the Grand Tasting at Auditorium Shores, Rock Your Taco officially kicked off at Republic Square Park. This year’s challengers included previous champs Tyson Cole and Richard Blais, festival headliners Tim Love and Jason Dady, a couple of fresh faces like Jonathan Waxman and Jamie Bissionette, and most importantly Austin’s own culinary heroes Paul Qui and Andrew Wisehart.

With the level of talent in the field, the level competition was insanely high and if you were lucky enough to attend the event, you were a witness to the smackdown event of the weekend as the participating chefs put their game faces on in hopes of claiming their stake on the title.
