Melted cheese is a large part of most Austinite’s diets, so luckily for us, the Quesoff is back and taking place on Saturday, August 26 at the Mohawk.
Entries from home cooks and budding chefs will be supplemented by quesos from entities such as El Chile, Juiceland, FreeBirds World Burrito, Bullfight, The Shady Grove, the frequent winner Frank and more.
The competition will be judged by Aaron Franklin of Franklin’s Barbecue, Miriam Parker, Executive Director Austin Food & Wine Alliance, Matthew Oda, Restaurant Critic and Food Writer, Mike Thelin of Hot Luck, Shelly Phillips Director of Austin Food + Wine Festival and Wendy Cummings, Senior Business Development, SXSW.
The seventh annual Quesoff benefits the Central Texas Food Bank so entry will be free with a donation of two canned goods or a $2 donation per person. Additionally, bags of chips will be available for $5.
