At Growler USA, Austin’s new neighborhood microbrew pub, they know there’s no better way to celebrate a patriotic holiday than with a taste, pint or even a 64-ounce growler of handcrafted American beer. And that’s exactly what’s on tap at Growler USA on Thursday, April 7 in celebration of National Beer Day.

Marking the day in 1933—the very first day in 13 years—that Americans were legally able to buy, sell and drink beer, thanks to the abolition of Prohibition, National Beer Day is perfect opportunity to honor those tasty suds in style. And Growler USA, which boasts a 100-tap wall of handcrafted beverages, including a rotating selection of Austin, Hill Country and Texas microbrew beers, is commemorating National Beer Day and with all-day and all-night happy hour, party favors, tasty pub grub and good times.

On National Beer Day Growler USA will feature handcrafted beer specials as part of the day- and night-long even better happy hour, including 10 percent off growler refills, $2 off all appetizers, $3 off all kombucha, $2 off all wines and $2 off all Texas beers. It’s the chance to try some new microbrews or other beverages and sip on all the favorites from area breweries, like Solid Rock, (512) Brewing Company, Live Oak Brewing Company, Independence Brewing Company, Thirsty Planet Brewing Company, Austin Beerworks, Blue Owl Brewing and Hops & Grain Brewing — all for a special happy-hour price. But it wouldn’t be a national celebration without a beer-themed party favor, so Growler USA will provide every guest with one free 64-ounce plastic growler, perfect for refilling time and time again with the best microbrews Growler USA has to offer.

While the pub will surely tempt beer aficionados with a diverse choice microbrew specials, Growler USA’s entire range of 100 percent American-made beverages will also be available on National Beer Day. In addition to microbrew beer, Growler USA serves hard cider, draft wine, hand-crafted root beer, cold-pressed coffee and kombucha tea. Beer lovers who just can’t choose will definitely want to try Growler USA’s beer flights, a great opportunity to sample the many styles of local and regional craft beers available. And with a food menu designed to complement each handcrafted beverage and featuring lots of Austin-centric munchies (Barton Springs Brisket Sliders, Town Lake Tater Tots, Capital Cowboy Chili, blackened mahi fish tacos), Growler USA is a scrumptious destination to celebrate National Beer Day.
