La Condesa to host !El Grito! Mexican Independence Day Pop-up Party

La Condesa will host distinguished chefs, Aaron Bludorn (former Executive Chef of Café Boulud, contestant on Netflix’s The Final Table) and Chef Drake Leonards (Executive Chef-Partner of Eunice and former Executive Chef of La Provence) for !El Grito!, a new pop-up party which will celebrate Mexican Independence Day at Malverde, which is the private space above La Condesa, on Monday, September 16 at 6 p.m. for $25 per person, and includes entrance to the party, bites, and sips.

Executive Chef Rick Lopez will reunite with his friends and revered chefs, to celebrate Mexican Independence Day through interactive culinary experiences that honor the cuisine, culture, and customs of Mexico. All veterans of New York City’s Café Boulud, the chefs will come together for a real time breakdown of black sea bass and pompano for the crowd, and serve up a few of La Condesa’s. Lopez, Bludorn, and Leonards are all veterans of New York City’s Café Boulud.

The party will feature mezcal 101 and tastings by La Condesa’s Justin Garza, passed botanas, and beats by DJ Steven Lee Moya. The chefs will come together for a real time breakdown of black sea bass and pompano for the crowd, and serve up a few of La Condesa’s signature fresh ceviches. 

Guests will also be able to learn how La Condesa makes its own masa in-house from kernel to dough, press their own tortillas, and enjoy it grilled fresh from the plancha with a Margarita La Clásica in hand. Tickets for ¡El Grito! are $25 per person, and includes entrance to the party, bites, and sips. Additional drinks will be available for purchase from the full bar.

La Condesa will keep the party going from ¡El Grito! and kick off Sobremesa, a series of Chef collaborations, on Tuesday, September 17th. The first event of the Sobremesa series will feature a one-day only collaborative pop-up menu by Chefs Aaron Bludorn, Drake Leonards and Rick Lopez.
