Jjim BBQ is a new concept and latest project from CKN Hospitality, the team behind Donkey Mo’s Korean Fried Chicken and Roba Katsu.  CKN Hospitality is led by Min Choe (CEO, who is also co-founder of Tso Chinese Delivery), Brian Kim (COO), and Youngmin Noh (Chief Culinary Officer).

Jjim BBQ brings a new kind of Korean barbecue to Austin.  Their namesake dish, “Jjim,” is a Korean method of slow cooking that features a braised meat until it becomes tender.  The restaurant also has a strict no-tipping policy because the team prides itself on paying their service staff fair and competitive wages.

The restaurant’s opening menu features two types of Jjim, including Galbi Jjim, made with braised beef short ribs, and a Spicy Pork Rib Jjim.  Both varieties are served in a cast-iron skillet with a delicious mix of vegetables including carrots, shishito peppers, potatoes, shiitake mushrooms and green onions, and a side of steamed rice.

Located at 1100 South Lamar Blvd #2140, Austin, TX 78704 in the Lamar Union development.  For more info, visit https://www.jjimbbq.com/ and follow along on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @jjimbbq.
