The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has people all over the world taking extra precautions from getting infected and with the shortage of hand sanitizer in stores nationwide, people are looking for an effective and healthy alternative.  Rachael Ray and her guest Dr. Ian Smith, shows us how to make your own homemade hand sanitizer with simple ingredients.

While hand sanitizer shouldn’t be used as a replacement for washing your hands with soap and water, the CDC recommends the best way to defend against getting sick is to wash your hands thoroughly for up to 20 seconds and avoid touching your face.

Rachael and Dr. Ian cites an experiment done by DailyMail.com showing bacteria on the hands after washing for only 15 seconds with soap and again after washing for 30 seconds.
