Graceland Grocery, the newest concept from the FBR team behind such bars as Mean Eyed Cat, Rattle Inn and The Wheel, along with Mike Farr of Nutty Brown Café, is now open in South Austin. A convenience store, gas station and an outdoor bar with a full kitchen that serves Stubb’s Bar-B-Q, with accompanying outdoor playscapes and picnic tables comprise the the 3 acre spread. Graceland Grocery is located at 8600 Highway 290, at the intersection of Circle Drive and Highway 290.

“It was important to us to support the community in Dripping Springs when creating Graceland Grocery. From the beer we carry like Dripping Spring’s own Thirsty Planet and Last Stand, to welcoming families to enjoy an afternoon or evening while their kids enjoy our play scapes,” comments partner Max Moreland.

The FBR Management team breathed new life into the space, opening up the convenience store, adding complimentary WiFi, a Cuvee coffee bar, local beer and wine for purchase. The coffee shop and grocery area, run by operating partner CB Demiralp, offers breakfast tacos and pastries by the team at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q, to the menu’s daily offerings. the outdoor space is outfitted with a full bar serving specialty cocktails and Stubb’s Bar-B-Q,  An Austin institution for 20 years, the space acts as Stubb’s first endeavor in a full scale restaurant and features all-natural meat by the pound, including beef brisket, chicken, chopped beef and pulled pork, Bar-B-Q plates, sandwiches and daily lunch specials, sides like mac & cheese, collard greens, sweet potatoes, and banana pudding and pecan pie for dessert.  The outdoor bar offers happy hour from 3 -7 p.m., Monday through Friday, with $3.50 on all twenty draft beers.  In celebration of opening, guests can enjoy a $2 pulled pork sandwich every Thursday in February.

Family friendly entertainment at Graceland includes two playscapes, corn hole and a volleyball court, with plans to open a dog park in 2016. Situated directly behind Graceland Grocery is Graceland Oaks, a large outdoor pavilion that is available to book for a variety of special events from cocktail parties to weddings.

Graceland Grocery is now open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 8600 Highway 290, Austin, TX. For more updates visit https://www.gracelandgrocery.com, like on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/GracelandGrocery or follow on twitter @GracelandGrocer.
