Fat City is a concept from Austin, Texas’ beloved culinary classic, The Peached Tortilla, located at 6700 Burnet Rd. at the local favorite dog-friendly spot Yard Bar.  Together, Fat City and Yard Bar are teaming up in the North Austin space to offer a nostalgic, fully outdoor, dog- and family-friendly neighborhood spot premiering in Summer 2021.

Fat City will feature a family-friendly menu of sliders, chicken tenders, crinkle fries and more, elevating nostalgic guilty pleasures to wholesome, scratch-made classics done right.  The pop-up will occupy the kitchen behind Yard Bar.  The straightforward, family-friendly menu features Fat Stacks – classic beef or fried chicken sliders available individually or in a Sack, which includes three sliders plus crinkle fries or tots. The menu also features hand-dipped chicken tenders brined overnight. For dessert, guests can enjoy soft serve available in both vanilla and chocolate as well as soft serve floats (the classic “Root Beer Float” and “Orange Dreamsicle”).

Silverstein’s team will also be renovating the Yard Bar patio area and refurbishing four of the original putt-putt holes on the property, to offer a space that is both family and dog-friendly.  Yard Bar’s dog park and bar will remain open 12-10 p.m. daily.  Park day passes and memberships are both available for visitors and can be purchased at the park or online at yardbar.com/play. Day passes are available for $9 per dog; monthly memberships start at $25 and annual memberships start at $249.  Families, dogs and friends will be welcome!

Yard Bar is an outdoor bar and dog park located in the heart of North Austin.  Yard Bar serves up great drinks including a selection of handcrafted cocktails and mocktails, local beers and wines. There is an off-leash dog park area that includes tables and chairs for folks to lounge while their pups enjoy a fun, safe space that also has agility and play equipment. Yard Bar is open daily from 12-10 p.m.
