On Sunday, October 1, Far East Fest will host Austin’s first ever Asian Food Festival at the Austin American-Statesman facility overlooking the Congress bridge from 12 to 5 p.m.  The event will host 25-40 local Austin restaurants participating and cooking everything from Chinese to Indian fare (Far East Asia). At Far East Fest we seek to celebrate all of greater Austin’s growing Asian communities and promote restaurant growth through their cuisine.  Our values include promoting culture and diversity through marketing local businesses to support economic growth.

With our community partner, Greater Austin Asian American Chamber of Commerce, we share and embrace their mission to promote Asian American community and community at large as a catalyst for local and global economic growth through advocacy, connections and education.  We’re expecting 3000-5000 attendees who will be purchasing admission for all-you-can eat food sampling for the day.  The tickets and additional details will be posted to www.fareastfest.com/tickets/ and our Facebook event page.

Attendees and judges will rate and enjoy tastings from 25-40 of Austin’s best chefs and restaurants who will be competing for awards based on creativity to overall flavor. Winners will be announced close to the end of the event.  Additionally, there will be an eating contest, live performances, activities for all ages, and special VIP surprise guests.

Local Austin restaurants participating include: Wu Chow, Thai Kun, The Peached Tortilla, Chi’lantro BBQ, Lucky Robot, Fukumoto, Dee Dee, Jenna’s Asian Kitchen, Tso Chinese Delivery, DFG Noodles, Chinatown, Tamale House East, Cho Sushi, Korea House, Snow Monster, Street ATX, Poke Me Long Time, and many more.
