Get ready to indulge your senses this October at the 2024 Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival, a premier event that promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Texas’ rich culinary and winemaking traditions. Hosted by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, this eagerly-awaited festival will feature an impressive lineup of over 75 local food and beverage purveyors, bringing together the best of the state’s flavors and hospitality.

Set in the historic Marktplatz, the festival will showcase a vibrant mix of over 45 wineries, breweries, and distilleries, alongside nearly 30 of Texas’ top culinary talents. Attendees will have the chance to experience one of the state’s most anticipated food and beverage events, complete with hands-on culinary and beverage demonstrations led by award-winning chefs and mixologists.

Festival Producer Hayley Wakefield promises this year’s event will be the most immersive yet, with an array of innovative experiences designed to delight every palate. “This year’s festival is slated to be our most immersive and engaging to date, with an array of innovative and tantalizing experiences to amuse the palate,” says Wakefield.

Highlights to Look Forward To

The festival offers a diverse lineup of attractions, each celebrating the unique culture of Texas Hill Country:

  • Augusta Vin’s VIP Lounge: Enjoy exclusive wine tastings in a luxurious setting.
  • Heath Sparkling Wine Garden: Sip on some of the finest sparkling wines in a beautifully curated garden.
  • Joanna’s Market by Signor Vineyards: Explore unique dining experiences and shop for artisanal goods.

In addition to these exclusive experiences, the Texas Wine Auction’s Grand Tasting Pavilion will raise funds for local causes, while the Uncork Texas Wine Beverage Demo Stage and Culinary Demo Stage will feature interactive sessions with top industry experts. You’ll also find the Distillery District, Beer Garden, and El Quincho Asador Argentino—a wood-fired outdoor kitchen brought to life by the team behind Revel Kitchen + Catering.

A Feast for the Senses

One of the standout experiences this year is Burgers, Bourbon & Barbecue, an elevated Texas ranch-style lounge that brings together the culinary talents behind Fredericksburg Cast Iron, Garrison Brothers Bourbon, Hill & Vine, and Eaker Barbeque. Complete with live music and an Allen’s Boots pop-up, this lounge promises to offer a taste of authentic Texas with a twist.

“We must attribute a great many thanks to our sponsors Augusta Vin Winery, Halter Ranch, Heath Sparkling Wines, Signor Vineyards, and Garrison Brother Distillery for allowing the festival to grow and continue to champion Texas’ amazing beverage and gastronomic culture,” adds Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Jim Mikula. “They have ensured that this event will be one for the books.”

Caesars Entertainment Unveils Stunning Transformation with the Grand Opening of Caesars New Orleans

New Orleans, LA - On October 22, 2024, I recently had an opportunity to attend the grand opening of Caesars New Orleans, marking the completion of a stunning $435 million transformation of the former Harrah’s New Orleans. It was an evening to remember, filled with excitement, luxury, and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The festivities began on Canal Street with an exhilarating ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, and Caesars New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad. The atmosphere was electric as they joined Caesar himself and an iconic New Orleans second-line band in a lively procession into the casino. It felt like the entire city had come out to celebrate, with Caesars New Orleans team members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell also joining the event to commemorate this historic occasion. Anthony Carano’s pride in introducing Caesars to New Orleans was palpable. “From local favorite Emeril Lagasse to our long-time partner, Chef Nobu, to the beautiful state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, all-new rooms and gaming floor, and of course, our gorgeous new center bar, Octavia, Caesars New Orleans offers something for everyone. It’s a world-class resort in the heart of the Big Easy, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” he said. The ceremony was a spectacle, kicking off with an iconic Mardi Gras float featuring Caesar and his court, and a dazzling firework show that lit up the New Orleans sky. The second-line band then led us revelers into the resort’s elegant center bar, Octavia, where we indulged in a “Taste of Caesars New Orleans.” Each bite from the six on-property restaurants was a delightful journey, capturing the essence of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene. Throughout the night, elemental entertainers, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Mardi Gras Indians, Zulu Tramps, and showgirls, created an authentic and unforgettable Big Easy experience. Everywhere I turned, there was something new to marvel at, each performance more mesmerizing than the last. Samir Mowad, SVP and GM of Caesars New Orleans, highlighted the significance of the transformation, stating, “This year marks 25 years since we opened in New Orleans, and the completion of this project is the perfect way to usher in a new era with Caesars. Synonymous with the Caesars name, our new resort is pure elegance, and we’re excited to introduce a luxury brand like this to New Orleans. We are extremely grateful for the support of the community, our team members, and our guests as we come to the finish line of this tremendous transformation.” The hotel itself is impressive,…
