Craftsman Creates Four Mimosa Cocktails and Launches Brunch Menu November 22nd
Since the start of this year’s NFL Season, Craftsman bar, located at 2000 E. Caesar Chavez Street, has quickly become one of the East Side’s most popular spots for football fans to grab a drink and catch their favorite team’s game. To give their guests everything an NFL fan needs to enjoy the game, owner Brandon Testa and the Craftsman crew have worked through the past month to perfect a unique ‘Sunday Funday’ drink menu featuring Austin’s first foray into mimosa-cocktails.
“I wanted to introduce a completely new spin on the mimosa that no one in Austin had seen before,” said Testa. “With a little experimentation, our team discovered mimosas combined with some carefully concocted cocktail recipes are delicious!”
Craftsman’s ‘Sunday Funday’ menu features four mimosa-cocktails available all-Sunday-long, including the Old Fashioned Mimosa with whiskey, Angostura Bitters, sugar, and bubbles for $5; the ScrewMosa with vodka, orange juice, and bubbles for $5 (or add Peach Schnapps for an additional $1); the Mai Tai Mimosa with rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, Orgeat syrup, and bubbles for $5; and the ManMosa which is simply a Lone Star beer combined with fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice for $3.
To compliment Craftsman’s new mimosa-cocktail menu, Testa also teamed with his culinary counterpart, Chef Nestor Mendez, the proprietor of the Pueblo Viejo food trucks, which are located in front of Craftsman as well as 907 East 6th Street. As football fans settle in to watch the second half of the NFL season, Pueblo Viejo will launch Craftsman’s first brunch program with a focus on authentic Mexican cuisine this Sunday, November 22nd at 11 a.m.
The brunch menu is comprised of four authentic Mexican choices including Huevos Rancheros with two fried eggs topped with grilled tomatoes, onions, and hot ranchero sauce with a side of two tortillas, refried beans, and sautéed potatoes for $5.99; Huevos a la Mexicana with two scrambled eggs mixed with sautéed potatoes, Pico de Gallo, Monterey Jack cheese, and topped with fresh avocados with a side of bacon, refried beans, and two tortillas for $5.99; Tacos Don Chago with eggs, refried beans, Monterey Jack cheese, bacon, and fresh avocados for $3; and a vegetarian option of Tacos Mi Madre with sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños, spinach, Monterey Jack cheese, and the option of scrambled eggs for $3.
And for all of the football and non-football fans alike who prefer a more standard, breezy brunch beverage, guests can also order Craftsman’s House Mimosa for $3 or a six-pack of Tecate for only $10.
“Our goal is to create an environment where everyone from the most die-hard football fans to the biggest brunch aficionados can all have the perfect Sunday Funday together,” said Testa. “With the addition of our mimosa-cocktail menu, the launch of our weekly brunch, and our more classic specials, we plan to make every Sunday Austin’s favorite and most affordable day of the week.”
Craftsman’s Sunday Funday drink and brunch menu launches this Sunday, November 22nd at 11 a.m. Craftsman is open seven days a week, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Sunday. Learn more about Craftsman by visiting https://craftsmanbar.com.

New Orleans, LA - On October 22, 2024, I recently had an opportunity to attend the grand opening of Caesars New Orleans, marking the completion of a stunning $435 million transformation of the former Harrah’s New Orleans. It was an evening to remember, filled with excitement, luxury, and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The festivities began on Canal Street with an exhilarating ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, and Caesars New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad. The atmosphere was electric as they joined Caesar himself and an iconic New Orleans second-line band in a lively procession into the casino. It felt like the entire city had come out to celebrate, with Caesars New Orleans team members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell also joining the event to commemorate this historic occasion. Anthony Carano’s pride in introducing Caesars to New Orleans was palpable. “From local favorite Emeril Lagasse to our long-time partner, Chef Nobu, to the beautiful state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, all-new rooms and gaming floor, and of course, our gorgeous new center bar, Octavia, Caesars New Orleans offers something for everyone. It’s a world-class resort in the heart of the Big Easy, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” he said. The ceremony was a spectacle, kicking off with an iconic Mardi Gras float featuring Caesar and his court, and a dazzling firework show that lit up the New Orleans sky. The second-line band then led us revelers into the resort’s elegant center bar, Octavia, where we indulged in a “Taste of Caesars New Orleans.” Each bite from the six on-property restaurants was a delightful journey, capturing the essence of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene. Throughout the night, elemental entertainers, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Mardi Gras Indians, Zulu Tramps, and showgirls, created an authentic and unforgettable Big Easy experience. Everywhere I turned, there was something new to marvel at, each performance more mesmerizing than the last. Samir Mowad, SVP and GM of Caesars New Orleans, highlighted the significance of the transformation, stating, “This year marks 25 years since we opened in New Orleans, and the completion of this project is the perfect way to usher in a new era with Caesars. Synonymous with the Caesars name, our new resort is pure elegance, and we’re excited to introduce a luxury brand like this to New Orleans. We are extremely grateful for the support of the community, our team members, and our guests as we come to the finish line of this tremendous transformation.” The hotel itself is impressive,…
