Con’ Olio kicks off summer with the return of their Kids Summer Culinary Camp. Back by popular demand, budding chefs ages 7 to 15 years of age will begin each day with an introduction to basic culinary skills such as safety, cleaning and menu ingredients selection.
Led by Chef Rachel Zierzow, a certified natural foods chef and macrobiotic health counselor, the class is extremely interactive and fosters independence, encouraging creativity and confidence in the kitchen. Classes begin easy then progress to more challenging menu items.

Born and raised in Madrid and also a resident of Cadiz and Santiago de Compostela, Spain, Chef Fer shares her homeland’s recipes in Con’ Olio’s most popular class, Paellas, Tapas & More. It’s the real deal, a truly authentic Spanish Paella cooking class perfect for date night, girls night, an educational night out or group activity.
The evening begins with a brief introduction to extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars, followed by Chef Fer’s demonstration of her made-by-scratch Paella Valenciana. Two Spanish tapas, ensalada with fresh vinaigrette, homemade bread with olive oil, a specialty dessert and Virgin Spanish Sangria will be served.

Experience the full spectrum of olive oils from countries around the world with flavors spanning from intense and robust to mild and buttery at Con’ Olio’s Olive Oil 101class. Olive oil experts will guide you through a tasting of some of the world’s freshest extra virgin olive oils complete with pairings of cheese, artisanal bread, Amy’s Mexican Vanilla ice cream and more.
Guests will learn how to separate truths from myths as they discover the history, mythology, production process and health benefits of olive oil, while learning how to examine olive oil like a professional sensory panel taster.

To celebrate the opening of Con’ Olio’s new Bee Cave shop, Con’ Olio will partner with Antonelli’s Cheese Shop, the award winning and internationally acclaimed Hyde Park cheese shop. Co-owner Kendall Antonelli, a Certified Cheese Professional, a cheese judge, and board member of the American Cheese Education Foundation will join Tabatha Conarko, founder of Con’ Olio and a Certified Olive Oil Sensory Evaluator, as well as Con’ Olio’s education director, Laura Savage Rains, in thisTaste of Italy class.
Guests will start with an Olive Oil 101 flight of three Italian olive oil varietals, followed by Antonelli’s Seven Styles of Cheese (a guided tasting through each style of cheese, tasting specific examples, both pasteurized and unpasteurized) and each paired with a unique Con’ Olio balsamic vinegar. Artisan bread, spanish marcona almonds and olives will be served, with wine available for purchase.

New Orleans, LA - On October 22, 2024, I recently had an opportunity to attend the grand opening of Caesars New Orleans, marking the completion of a stunning $435 million transformation of the former Harrah’s New Orleans. It was an evening to remember, filled with excitement, luxury, and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The festivities began on Canal Street with an exhilarating ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, and Caesars New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad. The atmosphere was electric as they joined Caesar himself and an iconic New Orleans second-line band in a lively procession into the casino. It felt like the entire city had come out to celebrate, with Caesars New Orleans team members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell also joining the event to commemorate this historic occasion. Anthony Carano’s pride in introducing Caesars to New Orleans was palpable. “From local favorite Emeril Lagasse to our long-time partner, Chef Nobu, to the beautiful state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, all-new rooms and gaming floor, and of course, our gorgeous new center bar, Octavia, Caesars New Orleans offers something for everyone. It’s a world-class resort in the heart of the Big Easy, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” he said. The ceremony was a spectacle, kicking off with an iconic Mardi Gras float featuring Caesar and his court, and a dazzling firework show that lit up the New Orleans sky. The second-line band then led us revelers into the resort’s elegant center bar, Octavia, where we indulged in a “Taste of Caesars New Orleans.” Each bite from the six on-property restaurants was a delightful journey, capturing the essence of New Orleans’ rich culinary scene. Throughout the night, elemental entertainers, including the Saints Cheer Krewe, Mardi Gras Indians, Zulu Tramps, and showgirls, created an authentic and unforgettable Big Easy experience. Everywhere I turned, there was something new to marvel at, each performance more mesmerizing than the last.
