Uncle Billy’s Brewery and Smokehouse

Uncle Billy’s will be showing EVERY match of the World Cup, from the opener on June 14 to the Championship game on July 15.  Games will be shown on multiple HDTVs inside and outside on the patio played at full volume and they’ll even be open for all 7am matches (and even that 5am match on June 16).  They’ll also be serving their breakfast menu for all of the hardcore World Cup fans who want to get an early start on the action.  The breakfast menu includes breakfast tacos, freshly brewed coffee and a Bloody Marys.  Celebrate each win with a in-house craft beer brewed on-site as well as specialty cocktails made with Uncle Billy’s spirits.

 

 

The Park

The Park will be opening at 10:00 a.m. daily starting Thursday, June 14 for all World Cup games. They will be offering happy hour prices for anyone wearing their countries colors. Some of their happy hour favorites include $5 Frozen mojitos and margaritas, $5 red and white (house) wine, $5 Titos Vodka, Maker’s Mark Bourbon, amongst other.  Appetizers include $5 4 Dips n’ Chips , $5 Artichoke dip, $6 Chicken , satay, $7 Sirloin sliders and $7 Brisket quesadilla.

 

Fresa’s

Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon is kicking off a series of weekend World Cup watch parties on June 22, through the final soccer match on Sunday, July 15.  Join the Fresa’s team at their South First location to enjoy games beginning at 10:00 a.m. Fridays through Sundays.

Spectators can view the games on four large-screen HDTVs in the inside dining room. Happy Hour prices, including $2 off all beer, wine, margaritas and botanas, will be available for patrons dining inside during the watch party.  For the final championship match on Sunday, July 15, Fresa’s will also be bringing in a massive 115″ LED HD Video Wall to their spacious outdoor patio.  More details on this special championship game watch party will be announced in the coming weeks.

 

 

Central Standard

Central Standard will feature special hours and menus ​beginning on June 15th through July 15th.  The restaurant will be opening as early as 7am for select games and there will be breakfast sandwiches from Executive Chef Casey Wilcox, coffee, bloody marys and more! Group dining and private event options are also available for fan clubs or bigger watch parties​; those interested in hosting a private party can reach out to Central Standard​ via email.

 

 

Native Hostel

Native Hostel will be screening every game of 2018 FIFA World Cup in their new 3,400 square-foot event space for the entirety of the sporting event from Thursday, June 14, to Sunday, July 15. La Matta

La Matta will air games during its regular business hours throughout the duration of the World Cup series and will also feature happy hour specials from 1pm to 7pm on game days. Guests will also have the option to fill out a bracket for prizes; codes will be received after making a purchase at La Matta and can then be inputted into FIFA’s website.

 

 

Cover 3

The locally-owned-and-operated COVER 3 is widely considered “one of the top sports bars in the country” (according to CNNSports IllustratedTravel + LeisureThe Daily Meal and more), providing guests with an elevated dining experience compared to what patrons might find at traditional sports bars, while also boasting enough HD TV’s that guests will always have multiple options for their game-watching viewing pleasure. COVER 3 also serves up a full bar with a highly curated selection of spirits, a variety of local beers on tap, and over 100 wines from its distinctive wine cellars.

 

Little Woodrow’s

Head over to Little Woodrow’s various Austin locations from June 14 through July 15 to catch all the action of the World Cup games! We’re brining the world to you on multiple big screen HD-TVs. We’ve got free Wi-Fi on-site, so you can pretend you’re working. Our Burnet location will open early to show the 7AM games, while our West 6th Street and Tech Ridge locations will be open for the 1PM games. Stop by and watch your favorite teams play!

 

 

Licha’s Cantina

Starting on Thursday, June 14th through Thursday, June 28th, Licha’s will open DAILY at 10am to 3pm, offering a limited Copa Mundial menu. Beyond Thursday, June 28th, between the final tournaments and the final match, the eastside bungalow will open for games scheduled outside of regular business hours.  Off the Copa Mundial menu, guests can order Tacos de al Pastor, Tacos de Lengua, & Veggie Tacos, an order of four tacos for $8; $12 Tortas,  T.V’s will be set up on the front patio, the backyard, and inside the cantina. In lieu of table service, guests can order food & drinks from the inside or backyard bar. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis and Licha’s Cantina will not be taking reservations or holding tables for any group size Large crowds are expected on Sunday, June 17th at 10am CST for the Mexico vs. Alemania match.

 

 

Plucker’s

Pluckers Wing Bar will be opening early on the dates below for FIFA World Cup Mexico games and will be offering $1 off 34 oz mugs of Dos XX.  Sunday, June 17 at 9:45 AM (game starts at 10 AM), Saturday, June 23 at 9:45 AM (game starts at 10 AM), Wednesday, June 27 at 8:45 AM (game starts at 9 AM).  To spice-up the tournament, guests will have a chance to win $2500 in cash by correctly guessing the teams that will make it to the Final Four. Krause’s Cafe

With our South Texas ties so closely linked to both Mexico and Germany, your readers will definitely be looking for fun places to watch the World Cup Germany. vs. Mexico game on Sunday, June 17. New Braunfels-based Krause’s Café + Biergarten, the historic restaurant that honors the city’s German traditions with authentic food and traditional ‘biergarten,’ should be at the top of the list to watch the match.
The bierhalle will become an arena with a special viewing of the game beginning at 10 am.  Guests can find over 70 beers on tap at the biergarten, with national, local craft, regional, and even international options, from German steins to Mexican cerveza.  To really get into the spirit, there is plenty of authentic, tasty German fare to be paired with futbol from schnitzel and bratwurst with sauerkraut to Bavarian pretzels. New Orleans, LA - On October 22, 2024, I recently had an opportunity to attend the grand opening of Caesars New Orleans, marking the completion of a stunning $435 million transformation of the former Harrah’s New Orleans. It was an evening to remember, filled with excitement, luxury, and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans. The festivities began on Canal Street with an exhilarating ceremony led by Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg, President & COO Anthony Carano, and Caesars New Orleans General Manager Samir Mowad. The atmosphere was electric as they joined Caesar himself and an iconic New Orleans second-line band in a lively procession into the casino. It felt like the entire city had come out to celebrate, with Caesars New Orleans team members and Mayor LaToya Cantrell also joining the event to commemorate this historic occasion.
